Rape,
extortion and suicide Recovering the money after patent infringement
suit
A corporate executive explained that his company had
won a multi-million dollar patent infringement lawsuit against a
competitor. The suspect then claimed poverty and an investigation
revealed that he had transferred unknown sums to offshore accounts. A
civil court order was obtained by the claimant for a search of the
suspect’s business computer. We were retained and a ComputerCOP
forensic search of the hard drive revealed files indicating that the
suspect transferred millions of dollars into the United States during
the trial to purchase land in other family member’s names. Based on
the recovered evidence, the Judge ordered a contempt citation, which
motivated a full payment. |
Disgruntled employeeWe were retained by a NYC textile company to conduct an after hours examination of their 12 employee’s computers. An individual, who they suspected was an employee, had been sending threatening e-mail to their executives through an offshore website. The system’s administrator had already searched the computers but had no success. A ComputerCOP forensic search of all 12 computers was done simultaneously, the evidence located and the task completed in just four hours. The employee was terminated and the evidence presented to law enforcement.
